“There is no way to practice medicine today without talking about technology.” This statement by Rovani Camargo, Marketing Director at Unimed Chapecó, can be confirmed through the partnership between Delta and the hospital. Even during the project implementation phase, DCA was tasked with presenting the best technology solutions to Unimed Chapecó.
For a hospital that invests in technology and innovation, it was a perfect match. GPON technology brings advantages to Unimed Chapecó such as reduced network interference from equipment like CT scanners and X-ray machines, since the cabling uses a light-based signal and is not affected by external interference.
The use of optical cabling also results in lower physical space usage, allowing hospital areas that would normally be used for technical rooms to be converted into new patient beds. In addition, it offers cost savings through passive equipment that does not require electrical power to operate, as well as enhanced safety due to fire-retardant cabling.
The biggest challenge for the team was changing the perception of the operator and the construction company regarding Laserway technology. “It is a shift in mindset, but we always knew that once they worked with fiber, they would come to prefer it,” highlighted Luiz Henrique Rosa, Commercial Manager at DCA.
For the hospital, the solution was perfect. Modern, innovative, and sustainable, the hospital complex significantly improved its service quality, system availability, and process security. Due to the size of the hospital, a decision was made to further invest in infrastructure, resulting in the creation of a second data center together with the implementation of Laserway technology. The project delivered full redundancy of the environment and improved network quality.
