From February 3rd to 7th, the Show Rural event was held in Cascavel. The event, focused on agribusiness, aims to create connections between small and large farmers and new technologies, making rural work more productive and efficient.
Drones, electric cars, artificial intelligence, monitoring, and connectivity—the life in the countryside is no longer what we once imagined. Seeking greater productivity, security, and business intelligence, farmers are increasingly relying on technology.
Within this context, DCA contributed to the event in the areas of connectivity and monitoring: together with Syma, a partner integrator, it provided Hikvision cameras installed in strategic locations such as the main entrance, the Show Rural Gate, the Drone Arena, restaurants, the water tower, and even the DCA booth itself.
From inside the booth, visitors were able to monitor the entire event through motion detection features, behavioral analytics, facial recognition, and also remotely control PTZ cameras—which allow horizontal, vertical movement, and zoom control.
With all these cameras distributed across the event space, how was the cabling done? It wasn’t simple! The connectivity between the cameras and the central point (the booth itself) was achieved using CnVision, a wireless radio solution from Cambium Networks designed for video surveillance, capable of handling heavy applications such as high-volume HD video traffic.
The fully optical Laserway solution from Furukawa was also showcased on-site through a rack installed in the booth. According to Fernando Bayer, Syma’s account manager, Laserway is the most suitable solution for cooperatives:
“A single fiber can reach up to 20 km, allowing connections between distant units. In addition, it has electromagnetic immunity, eliminating risks of interference caused by proximity to electrical cables and harsh environments such as industrial settings.”
“All the solutions presented are applicable both to large events and to everyday agribusiness operations. A camera can indeed be used for property security and monitoring, but it can also be used for animal counting using heat map features and people counting, for example. The limit of technology is human imagination!” says Willian Bietkoski, Commercial Manager at Delta Cable.
