Copel, responsible for providing power to the entire state of Paraná with over 4 million units served, invested in modernizing its Data Center, seeking higher performance, security, and scalability. The project was carried out through a partnership between the integrators QualityWare and DCA, utilizing cutting-edge solutions from Lightera.
The Data Center had been operating for 15 years without significant upgrades, relying on obsolete technologies that limited expansion and performance. The project implemented a modern and robust network environment, enabling data transmission over distances of up to 470 meters at speeds of 100 Gbps, while also reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
The TeraLan solution allows for a higher number of optical connections, high interference tolerance, and materials with low flame propagation, ensuring reliability in high-traffic data environments. The entire project was completed while the Data Center remained operational, requiring precise planning and execution to avoid interrupting essential services.
With this modernization, Copel now has a Data Center infrastructure prepared to support hosting, co-location, and cloud computing, with greater efficiency, flexibility, and expansion capacity. The project was successfully concluded, meeting all requirements and guaranteeing the quality and reliability of its services.
