At DCA’s headquarters in Curitiba, a network modernization project completely transformed the company’s infrastructure. The goal was to create an efficient, sustainable, and future-ready network, achieved through the implementation of Lightera’s Laserway technology—a high-performance, fully optical and passive infrastructure.
The project presented a significant challenge: deploying the new network over the existing infrastructure without interrupting business operations, while reusing existing cabling pathways. With approximately 500 meters of optical fiber and strategically adapted network points, the team replaced two 48-port switches and 96 copper cables with just two optical fibers—dramatically simplifying the architecture while delivering significantly higher performance.
In addition to operational efficiency, the project delivered substantial economic and environmental benefits. Laserway enabled up to 54% reduction in CapEx, due to decreased need for cable trays, racks, and technical rooms, and up to 70% reduction in OpEx, driven by simplified maintenance, easier scalability, and lower energy consumption. The technology also ensures longer cabling lifespan, improved bandwidth management, and adaptability to future demands without requiring retrofit.
The result is a modern, robust, and sustainable network capable of supporting growth and evolving demands with agility and reliability—reinforcing DCA’s position as a reference in advanced network infrastructure and innovation.
