The Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida, one of Brazil’s largest religious tourism destinations, receives up to 10 million visitors per year. To protect both the public and its assets, a high-definition IP video monitoring system was implemented, supplied by DCA and executed by Sillis Soluções.
The project replaced the legacy system with 189 IP cameras, distributed throughout the Basilica, outdoor areas, parking facilities, and the Pilgrim Support Center. Monitoring is carried out in a Command and Control Center with an eight-screen video wall, and footage is stored across 96 TB of storage, ensuring retention for up to 45 days.
The infrastructure combines internal Cat6 cabling and external fiber optics, providing reliability and flexibility for large-scale events. The system also allows for future expansions, such as vehicle access control and license plate recognition, further enhancing the security of the religious complex.
