In a large university campus, the project aimed to integrate three buildings into a single, fully connected network, covering data, voice, and video, ensuring efficient and reliable communication across the entire academic environment. With more than 400 network points distributed throughout the campus, the infrastructure was carefully designed to support the high demand from students, faculty, and staff.
For the optical PON LAN network, Lightera’s Laserway solution was implemented, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. The copper network was built using Lightera’s GigaLAN Green Cat.6 cabling, combining superior performance, sustainability, and safety. The solution is flame-retardant and helps reduce risks in fire scenarios, ensuring protection and peace of mind for everyone on campus.
The network also includes strategically positioned racks in the data center and edge locations, providing organization, scalability, and ease of maintenance. The entire project was designed to meet the dynamics of an educational environment, where fast data transmission and seamless information integration are essential to support learning and daily university operations.
